Student Managed Fund

In the Fall of 2007 the Foundation sent out Requests For Proposal to local universities to allow student teams from around Orange County to compete for the opportunity to manage the Foundation’s portfolio for one year.

We are pleased to announce that the winners of the 2007 annual portfolio management Request For Proposal competition are the SMIF students of CSULB, and we would like to congratulate them on their successful proposal and presentation. The team of students from CSULB will be managing a $100,000 portfolio for the 2008 calendar year.

For Orange County Colleges/Universities desiring an RFP and to participate in the program for 2007/08 or just seeking more information, please contact Peter Ammermann, Ph.D.

The CFA Society of Orange County Foundation (CFAOCF) is proud to continue offering educational scholarships.

There are two educational scholarships: one for $3,500 and the other for $2,500. 

Both are open to Economics/Finance Majors with an interest in Investment Studies at Orange County Universities. The scholarship is intended to assist students with the rising costs of obtaining an undergraduate degree.  The deadline for scholarship applications is December 31, 2007.

Successful fundraising has allowed us to increase the number of educational scholarships awarded this year to two. The recipients will be announced once the winners are selected.
